Australian soldiers at the Union Jack Club BL23031_001
The Union Jack Club, 91A Waterloo Road, Lambeth. The Union Jack Club was founded in 1907 as a place for servicemen to stay while in London. It was heavily used during both world wars. The photograph, showing Australian soldiers, was taken for Orient Line (Orient Steam Navigation Company). This was the original building, which was later demolished and replaced with a new building on the junction of Waterloo Road with Sandell Street. Bedford Lemere, 1915
