Old Tamar Street in Saltash OP04859
Old Tamar Street in Saltash, Cornwall, with an artist painting a group of boys in the street, and the brick piers of I.K. Brunel's Royal Albert Bridge visible above the carriageway of the Tamar House Inn in the background. 1885-1900. Old Tamar Street is now demolished. Tamar Street was also known as 'Pickle Cockle Alley', presumably because of the trade in shellfish that took place there. There is now a new Tamar Street at this location.
