Liberty and Co BL27070_014
LIBERTY S, Regent Street, London. Interior of Libertys newly completed Arts and Crafts Tudor style department store, showing the gallery and light well. This extraordinary building was constructed in 1922-24 using timbers from HMS Hindustan and HMS Impregnable. It was a remarkable reaction to the early twentieth century vogue for stone dressed steel-framed buildings. Designed by Edwin T. Hall and E. Stanley Hall. This photograph was commissioned by Higgs and Hill, builders. Photographed by Bedford Lemere and Co. in 1924
