Farrier, Cambridgeshire AA98_10862

Soham, Cambridgeshire. A blacksmith, or farrier, shoeing a horse with a young boy looking on. Traditional skills and crafts are learned by starting young and through generations of experience. Here a young and attentive trainee is shown the finer points of shoeing a horse. Photographed by Hallam Ashley in May 1948.
