Metro Cinema, Shrewsbury Road, Penistone, Penistone, Barnsley. Looking along the central aisle between seating in the circle, towards the curtained screen, in the auditorium of the Metro Cinema.
The Penistone Town Hall or Assembly Hall and Library was built in 1913. The building began operating as a cinema in around 1915 and in the 1920s the cinema was extended. It was renamed the Metro Cinema in 1986; by this time the Town Hall had moved to the former Library in the west end of the building. In the early 21st century the cinema was known as the Penistone Paramount Cinema
