A line of boy scouts and their scout master standing on a road in Holmbury St Mary, Surrey. The scouts are carrying scout staffs and bedrolls for a camping or pioneering trip. Photographed by Katherine J. Macfee, 23rd May 1912. This photograph was taken 5 years after Robert Baden-Powell, the founder of the Boy Scouts Association, held the first scout camp on Brownsea Island. This group are likely to have been from the Dorking District Scouts who formed in 1908
