The West Front, Bury St. Edmunds, Abbey Precincts, St. Edmundsbury, Suffolk. An exterior view of the houses which were built into the remains of the west front of the church at Bury St Edmunds Abbey. The houses are a group of two and three storey houses that were built into the ruinous remains of the abbey's west front. They are now known as 1, 1A, 2, and 3 West Front and Samson's Tower
