The garden designer, Gertrude Jekyll, beside the terrace bridge at Deanery Garden, Sonning, The Deanery (or Deanery Garden) is a house designed by Sir Edwin Lutyens in Sonning, Berkshire. The existing house was converted into a vast Italianate mansion in the 19th century by John Nash whilst the gardens were landscaped by William Nesfield. The house was gutted by fire in 1937.
