The long service and retirement presentation was held at Wembley Town Hall after an Annual General Meeting of the company. The presentations were made by W K Laing (Kirby) and J M Laing (Maurice) with Sir John Laing in attendance

SKEGNESS, EAST LINDSEY, LINCOLNSHIRE. A row of people playing a roll a ball game in an amusement arcade during a Laing staff trip to Skegness.
In 1947, after a seven year break, Laing had resurrected their Area Outings for staff and their families, with trips taking place in May and June. In 1954, there were seven outings planned to take place over five weeks in May and June. This trip to Skegness was for employees and their families from the Midlands and South Yorkshire. A cropped version of this photograph was published in the July 1954 edition of Team Spirit, the Laing employee newsletter

Regent Street, City of Westminster, Greater London. Laing retiree Anne Kidd posed sitting on a table beside her retirement gift of a Magimix food processor, during a farewell presentation at Regent Street.
Anne Kidd joined the Laing Group in May 1972 and was responsible for the running and organising of many regional functions in her role of Public Relations Officer. The Marketing Department of the Building Division said goodbye to Anne at a special lunch in the Mill Hill home of colleague Bob Barnes. The Public Relations Group also held a farewell at Regent Street, where Anne was based for 8 years, and she was presented with a bouquet and food processor
