Neptune Energy Park Walker DP174618

Neptune Energy Park, Neptune Historic Dry Dock, Shepherd Offshore Ltd, Fisher Street, Walker, Newcastle upon Tyne, Tyneside. Began 1860 when John Wigham Richardson set up a small ship yard employing 200 people. Image shows the 60m high Blyth Offshore Demonstrator Wind Farm gravity based foundations under construction before being floated out into the River Tyne at high tide and out to sea. It will be the first offshore wind project to use a 66kV rated inter array to connect turbines to a new onshore sub station at Blyth. View from north from rooftop of Segedunum Visitors Centre.
