AYRESOME PARK, Middlesbrough. Aerial view of the former home of Middlesbrough Football Club, photographed in 1992. Having obtained promotion the Teessiders were founder members of the Premier League, but found themselves relegated again at the end of the 1992-93 season. Boro moved to the Riverside Stadium in 1995. Ayresome Park played host to Group 4 matches at the 1966 World Cup. Aerofilms Collection (see Links)

ROKER PARK, Sunderland. Aerial view of the former home of Sunderland Football Club. They moved to the Stadium of Light in 1997. Photographed in 1992. In May the Black Cats reached the FA Cup Final. Roker Park played host to Group 4 matches at the 1966 World Cup. Aerofilms Collection (see Links)

STAMFORD BRIDGE STADIUM, London. Aerial view. Home of Chelsea Football Club since 1905. Designed by the football ground architect Archibald Leitch, who also designed the covered east stand. Photographed here in 1948, the ground still retained a running track from its days as an athletic stadium and it could still hold an estimated 100, 000 spectators. Aerofilms Collection
