This was a gift to the Duke from the King of Prussia, and here depicts troops commanded by the Duke in France in 1815, in this case a British ADC of a General of Infantry; in the background is a Trooper of Cavalry staff corps. APSLEY HOUSE, London. Ice pail from the Duke of Wellington's Prussian Service, made in Berlin 1817-19. This was a gift to the Duke from the King of Prussia, and depict the battles he won during his military career. Here shown is the Battle of Mallavelly (27th March 1799) between forces of the British East India Company and the Kingdom of Mysore during the Fourth Anglo-Mysore War. The British were led by a youthful Arthur Wellesley. WM1055_1948
