Windsor Castle CC72_02426
WINDSOR CASTLE, Berkshire. A view of the castle from above Romney Lock. Although William the Conqueror had a castle on this site, the first stone buildings were put up by Henry II between 1165 and 1179. The raised flag suggests Queen Victoria was in residence at the time. Photographed in 1888 by Henry Taunt
