TIMBER YARD, Hamptons Munitions Works, Lambeth, London. While many women were employed during WWI to work in factories, the heavier work was still often left to men. Much of this timber may have been used to make duck boards to be sent to the trenches. Photographed by Harry Bedford Lemere in 1916
