St Georges Hospital, Blackshaw Road, Tooting, Wandsworth, Greater London. The St James Wing at St Georges Hospital, Tooting, under construction, looking east towards the western corner of the building.
The Southern Region division of Laing undertook the construction of Phase 2A at St Georges Hospital on behalf of the South West Thames Regional Health Authority between June 1984 and November 1988. The St James Wing was named in honour of the St James Hospital in Balham which had become part of the St Georges Group in 1980 and closed in 1988 with the opening of the extension at the Tooting site. It was demolished in 1992
