Laing Industrial Engineering and Construction Limited (IE&C) were involved in the construction of an Alkylation Unit at Lindsey Oil Refinery. There were many other sub-contractors on site, with Foster Wheeler as the main contractors. Laing started work on the site in May 1979. They were responsible for the installation of thirteen thousand metres of pipework, 1400 valves, 30 heat exchangers, 18 drums and vessels, and 23 pumps
