CIRENCESTER ROMAN AMPHITHEATRE, Gloucestershire. The bull ring is the local name for the towns roman amphitheatre, which as Corinium was one of the most important roman towns in the country lying on the Foss Way. The land was once privately owned and used for herding. Photographed by Henry Taunt in 1885
