PIONEER HEALTH CENTRE, ST MARY'S ROAD, SOUTHWARK, GREATER LONDON. The diving platform in the swimming pool of the former Pioneer Health Centre, Frobisher Place, seen after the building's conversion into flats.
The Pioneer Health Centre was opened in 1935. It was designed by Sir Owen Williams and was the second centre opened by Dr George Scott Williamson and Dr Innes Pearse, whose focus was prevention rather than cure'. From the 1950s the building was repurposed, including as a college. It was converted into private flats in the late 20th century. The swimming pool is now open to residents only, although access to the diving board has been removed. The building is Grade II* listed
