Welfield Home For Aged And Infirm Women, Wellfield Road, Hatfield New Town, Hertfordshire. A view of a ward. Originally the Hatfield Parish Workhouse, the building was constructed in 1788. The majority of the building later became a home for elderly women. Other parts of the building were used as a hospital. Photographed for the Topical Press Agency Ltd in February 1939
