Odeon cinema, Leicester Square, Westminster, London, 2 November 1937. Photographed by John Maltby (1910-80)
on cellulose nitrate negative. The Alhambra in Londons Leicester Square (see CC97_00503) was demolished in 1936. It was replaced by the Odeon chains flagship, steel-framed cinema, with its distinctive tower and polished black granite exterior. It was one of scores of Odeons recorded by the photographer John Maltby

12"x10" Modern Frame
10x8 Print in an MDF Wooden Frame with 180 gsm Satin Finish Paper. Glazed using shatter proof thin plexi glass. Frame thickness is 1 inch and depth 0.75 inch. Fluted cardboard backing held with clips. Supplied ready to hang with sawtooth hanger and rubber bumpers. Spot clean with a damp cloth. Packaged foam wrapped in a card.
