EDEN, CUMBRIA. A team of two working on a box culvert during the construction of the M6 Motorway through the Lune Gorge.
The work on the Lune Gorge section of the M6 Motorway between Killington and Tebay (Junction 37 - Junction 38) was carried out by John Laing Construction Ltd. Work started in October 1967 and the motorway was opened to traffic in October 1970. For the project, Laing had their site headquarters at Lowgill. This photograph was published in May 1968 in the monthly newsletter Team Spirit and is titled Wishbone box culvert
