Crystal Palace, Sydenham, Greater London, taken from 2000 feet. Tethered balloon flights were regularly undertaken at Crystal Palace, however this image is believed to be the earliest known surviving aerial photograph of the building itself. From the Cecil Victor Shadbolt collection of lantern slides dating from 1882-1892
