APSLEY HOUSE, London. Dessert plate from the Duke of Wellingtons Saxon Service, made at Meissen in 1818. This was a gift to the Duke from the King of Saxony, and depict the battles he won during his military career. Here shown is the Storming of Ciudad Rodrigo (20 Jan 1812) during the Peninsular War.
