New Street Coventry, 1941 a42_00327
New Street, Coventry. The exterior of 30 New Street with a woman standing in the doorway of the house holding a baby and the windows boarded as a result of bomb damage. A note beneath the photograph reports that the baby was " born during the great air-raid". Coventry City centre was devastated by air raids in November 1940. The bombing left the nearby cathedral in ruins and destroyed much of the historic fabric of the city. New Street was demolished following the end of the war
