M6 Motorway, M6, Grayrigg, South Lakeland, Cumbria. A view of the construction of the M6 Motorway through the Lune Gorge, looking north along a stepped part of the motorway towards Low Borrowbridge.
The work on the Lune Gorge section of the M6 Motorway between Killington and Tebay (Junction 37 - Junction 38) was carried out by John Laing Construction Ltd. Work started in October 1967 and the motorway was opened to traffic in October 1970. On this section of motorway, the cliffs of rock were drilled, blasted and then rock bolted for stability

10x8 Print in an MDF Wooden Frame with 180 gsm Satin Finish Paper. Glazed using shatter proof thin plexi glass. Frame thickness is 1 inch and depth 0.75 inch. Fluted cardboard backing held with clips. Supplied ready to hang with sawtooth hanger and rubber bumpers. Spot clean with a damp cloth. Packaged foam wrapped in a card.
