Furzehill Road, Borehamwood, Elstree and Borehamwood, Hertsmere, Hertfordshire. A man with a spirit level assessing the work of a Laing apprentice bricklayer during the construction of the Furzehill Road housing development.
Laing began work on the Furzehill road contract in March 1976. 395 houses and flats would accommodate around 1, 400 people. The site was a former Home of Rest for Horses, giving rise to street names like Farriers Way. The contract became an unofficial training ground for apprentices and the old peoples club on the development was built entirely by apprentices. This photograph appears to have been taken to demonstrate careers within the construction side of the company

20x16 Print in an MDF Wooden Frame with 180 gsm Satin Finish Paper. Glazed using shatter proof thin plexiglass. Frame thickness is 1 inch and depth 0.75 inch. Fluted cardboard backing held with clips. Supplied ready to hang with sawtooth hanger and rubber bumpers. Spot clean with a damp cloth. Packaged foam wrapped in a card.
