GREAT HALL, Hampton Court Palace, Richmond-upon-Thames, London. Begun for Cardinal Wolsey in 1514, but following his disgrace the palace was seized by Henry VIII. The Great Hall was built for Henry VIII in 1523-4 to replace Cardinal Wolsey's hall. The tapestries date from a similar period. Photographed in 1903. Howarth-Loomes Collection
